There are two networks to join on the “LAWN”. The Nework Names
(SSIDs) and respective capabilities are as follows:

The following products are compatible with our NCIPRIV Network
and need to be purchased by the user:
- Cisco 802.11 a/b/g wireless adapter, Cisco part # AIR-CB21AG-A-K9
(Note: This is a 32-bit card bus adapter.
PC must have an available Type II slot.)
- Cisco 802.11b 350 series wireless adapter, Cisco part#
AIR-PCM350
- Apple 802.11g Airport Extreme
- Intel Proset (Note: Must have Intel Client, Microsoft will not work.)
If you already have your Card,
simply call the ABCC Help Desk at 301-846-5555 to register. Once
you have registered your card with the ABCC Communications
Office, you can submit a request to have a technician assist
you (Computer Services 301-846-5115) or follow the installation instructions
below. In either case, a minimal understanding of the NCI-Frederick
wireless system is suggested before joining the “LAWN”
(Local Area Wireless Network).
Please read the following before selecting a Software and
Instruction Option below. VPN
is also available to use on the NCIPUB network VPN
is secure and allows full network access but we suggest you
stay put. It doesn’t lend itself well to roaming. Please
remember there is no AppleTalk™ on the wireless so have
a technician assist you in configuring your resources to be
IP compatible.

or g card. Note: Will only allow access to NCIPUB
