The Library of Congress received individual comments on its proposed revision of LCRI 22.1B (determining the name by which a person is commonly known), held discussions with the BIBCO Operations Committee during its annual meeting, and received comments via the PCC Regional Trainers discussion list. We thank the library community for its help, especially the cartographic community's request to treat persons involved in the creation of cartographic works in the same manner as authors who write texts.
As the result of the comments, several substantial changes were made to the draft that will greatly increase the efficiency of creating name authority records for those persons previously treated under AACR2 as working in a "nonverbal text."
The text of the final version of the revised LCRI that has gone forward for publication is available by selecting the link below. Implementation of this LCRI may begin immediately.
