Director’s Note
This issue of caBIG™ Links includes information that will be useful for organizations looking to achieve greater connectivity and interoperability through adopting caBIG™ tools and infrastructure, adapting existing tools to be caBIG™-compatible, and participating in building and promoting interoperability standards for the biomedical community.
“caBIG™ Seeks Broader Adoption within the Biomedical Community” describes the caBIG™ Community Outreach Summit, the caBIG™ Pilot Phase Report, and the release of the "Getting Connected with caBIG™" resource materials available through the caBIG™ Community website.
“Accelerating Research with Effective Biobanking” details the work of Rakesh Nagarajan, M.D., Ph.D. (Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University), and outlines key steps in the caBIG™ adoption process for newcomers.
These articles outline the benefits of adopting caBIG™ tools, infrastructure, and interoperability framework, and describe some of the ways in which the caBIG™ leadership is facilitating broader adoption across the biomedical community. We look forward to increased adoption and collaboration as we move forward, and encourage you in your own efforts to get connected with caBIG™.
Sincerely,
