caBIG® and NCI Initiatives
caBIG® provides the advanced informatics support for several key NCI (National Cancer Institute) initiatives. The scalability, standardized exchange formats, and common software tools of caBIG® make it easier for NCI initiatives to quickly ramp up and make progress toward their goals. Going forward, caBIG® may serve as a key technology platform to facilitate a wide variety of medical initiatives outside the cancer community as well.
