Clinical Practice Guidelines
Limitations
The clinical guidelines developed by NIAID will focus on IgE-mediated reactions to food, and some non-IgE mediated reactions to food. It will not discuss celiac disease (which is an immunologic but non-IgE mediated reaction to certain foods). The guidelines will also not discuss management food allergic patients in specific locations (e.g., schools, restaurants), and related public health issues.
Further limits to the scope may become necessary as the process unfolds and those instances will be determined by the expert panel and documented.
