Three Head and Neck Cancer SPOREs were awarded in the year
2002. Translational research sponsored by the Head and Neck
Cancer SPOREs covers a wide range of projects in prevention,
early detection, diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy of head
and neck tumors. The
National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR)
generously agreed to co-sponsor one third of these activities
throughout the five year period with the National Cancer Institute.
