NCI Organizational Structure
Within the National Cancer Institute organizational structure,
the Organ Systems Branch is part of the Office of Centers,
Training and Resources.
Mission Statement for the Organ Systems Branch
The Organ Systems Branch (1) develops, directs and administers broad, multidisciplinary,
transitional research programs focused on solid tumor cancers of high incidence;
(2) coordinates branch activities with related activities in other Divisions of the Institute;
(3) maintains liaison with appropriate federal and non-federal organizations, institutions, and scientists; and
(4) facilitates, coordinates, and tracks solid tumor research resources, as required, which relate to the
needs of two or more extramural Divisions of the Institute.
