Summary

This project is part of an integrated program to reduce uncertainty in human and ecological risk assessments by developing and applying in vivo and in vitro assays that can measure the total chemical activity of estrogen agonists and antagonists in the aquatic environment. The assays will be used to determine the concentrations of estrogen disrupting compounds in both fish and surface waters near hazardous waste sites and thus provide estimates of the contributions of these sites to estrogenicity in these media.
