Frontier Biology and Structural Biology of RNA	2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Over the past five years, there has been a major expansion in our knowledge and understanding of the roles that RNA plays in biology.  It plays wide roles far exceeding classic perceptions.  The vast untranslated non-coding RNAs (ncRNA) are believed to involve a variety of biological processes, from RNA processing and modification, transcription regulation, protein trafficking, and regulation of gene expression, to genomic stability.  The purpose of this mini-symposium is to provide a forum for intramural scientists to present the latest progress and discoveries in the field.  These speakers are at the frontier of this exciting field, from cell biology to structural biology.  The ideal outcome of this symposium is to form an NIH-wide RNA interest group that may enhance intramural collaborative research in the field.
