Current Position:
Director, Kidney and Urology Epidemiology Program

Current Portfolio/Responsibilities:

KUH: Directs a number of large scale epidemiology projects, clinical trials, and a portfolio of investigator initiated grants. The epidemiology projects include the United States Renal Data System (USRDS), the Urologic Diseases in America (UDA) project, and the RAND Interstitial Cystitis Epidemiology (RICE) projects. Also is co-project officer on the Frequent Hemodialysis Network (FHN) clinical trials.

TRANS-NIDDK:

            • Serves as Scientific Advisor to the Director of NIDDK on issues related to interagency communications concerning repository, registries, and other data issues. Other agencies that the Dr. Eggers consults with on a regular basis include AHRQ, CMS, NCHS and the VA.

            • Epidemiology committee, Clinical Studies Working Group, Obesity Working Group
