 CONFERENCE GRANTS
Notice to Applicants for Support of Scientific Meetings.  The Division of Cancer Biology provides modest support for scientific meetings in broad areas related to cancer biology, immunology and etiology. Prospective applicants are encouraged to submit applications at least six months prior to the proposed meeting. Application receipt deadlines are February 1, June 1 and October 1. Applications that are not received within this time frame must be accompanied by a request for expedited review. In addition, applicants are strongly advised to contact Program Staff in these cases. We will make an effort to honor such requests if there are extenuating circumstances, program staff support, and available resources to conduct the review. Please note, however, that acceptance of a late application is not assured.

The following information may be helpful in the preparation of a conference grant application:

Guidelines for Support of Scientific Meetings at NIH

In contrast to the statement regarding NCI's requirement of a Letter of Intent per the recently revised Guidelines for Support of Scientific Meetings (see link above), applicants are strongly urged, but not required, to submit a letter of intent prior to submission of conference grant applications.
