NIEHS's Goehl Honored

Tom Goehl, editor-in-chief of Environmental Health Perspectives, was honored last month at the annual American Chemical Society meeting in Philadelphia. He received the division of chemical health and safety's Howard Fawcett Award for Outstanding Contributions to Chemical Health and Safety. Goehl served as science editor of EHP from 1994 until 2001, when he took over as chief of the NIEHS journal. "In that time...he has been almost single-handedly responsible for the efficacy and effectiveness of that journal. Under his guidance and leadership it has become the outstanding publication with the superior recognition that it now enjoys," said Jay Young, chemical consultant, who nominated Goehl for the award.
