Current Position:
Program Director: Institutional Training and Small Business Research Programs
Current Portfolio/Responsibilities:
Manage the Small Business research portfolio, which includes the Small Business
Innovative Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR)
Programs. The program is intended to support innovative research which has the
potential for commercialization, conducted by small businesses. This portfolio
encompasses basic and clinical research, as well as device development and web-based
educational tool development directed at nutrition and obesity. Serve as Program
Director for the DDN Institutional Training Program (T32 mechanism). DDN currently
funds 66 grants at 47 institutions across the country in the areas of gastrointestinal,
liver, and nutritional research. Our programs support pre and postdoctoral trainees.
