At the Yale Cancer Center (YCC), we are committed to combating
cancer with the most effective modern tools. Since
1943, when Yale doctors administered the first
effective use of chemotherapy, our cancer center has
focused its efforts on developing new and better forms
of treatment.
At YCC, multidisciplinary disease-specific teams of
physicians coordinate care and blend the best of what each specialty
has to offer. These teams are complemented by a staff of nurses, social
workers, physical and occupational therapists, and nutritionists to look
after the emotional and logistical needs as well as the medical issues
of our patients. YCC provides a forum where health professionals dedicated
to improving outcomes for cancer patients can interact with world-class
basic scientists and epidemiologists to bring the latest scientific breakthroughs
to the bedside. |
