Some of the iSDP's software agreements provide for additional rights of use. The term "home computer" refers to a computer that was purchased, leased, rented, loaned or otherwise furnished by a party other than the government. The term "home use" refers to your right to purchase and install software on your personally owned computer. The term "secondary use" refers to your right to install a second instance (copy) of software obtained through the iSDP, usually on a laptop computer, for your exclusive use. Generally each software agreement provides different terms of use for its products. You need to read the software's End-User license agreement (EULA) for additional terms and conditions. Below is a summary of some of the current additional rights of use.

• Microsoft Office: Any IC/Agency enrolled in the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA) can obtain home use rights for Microsoft Office through the Home Use Program (HUP). In addition, the primary user of a desktop system enrolled in the EA can install a second instance of Office on a laptop computer for the exclusive use by that person. See the list below to determine if your organization has home use rights for Microsoft Office.

• Operating Systems: There are no home use rights or secondary use rights for any operating system. A second copy of Windows, or of Apple's OS, cannot be installed on any computer. If a Government-owned laptop should have operating system updates, it should be considered for enrollment in the iSDP. Personally owned computers are expressly prohibited from enrollment.

• Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Photoshop: The person licensed for Adobe Acrobat and/or Photoshop can install a second instance (secondary use rights) of Acrobat and/or Photoshop on either a laptop or home computer for their exclusive use.

• Filemaker: A second instance of FileMaker Professional can be installed on either a laptop or home computer for the exclusive use of the primary system's user.

• McAfee Virus Scan: HHS has acquired sufficient software licenses for McAfee Virus Scan to be installed on personally owned computers. The primary user of a desktop machine enrolled in the iSDP can install the AV software on one home computer in addition to computer enrolled in the iSDP.

• Statistical Software (SAS, S-PLUS, SPSS): The person licensed for statistical software can install additional instances of the software for their exclusive use.

• Symantec AntiVirus Scan: HHS has acquired home-use rights so that HHS-badged employees (including contractors) can install SAV on their personally owned computer. The primary user of a desktop machine enrolled in the iSDP can install the AV software on one home computer in addition to the computer enrolled in the iSDP.

• WordPerfect: A second instance of WordPerfect can be installed on either a laptop or home computer for the exclusive use of the primary system's user.

Even though home use is permitted in some cases, as referenced above, under no circumstances are home computers (i.e. personally owned computers) eligible for enrollment in the iSDP. For further information on additional rights of use, please contact citdcsisdpstaff@mail.nih.gov.
