The purpose of this document is to collect, analyze, and define high-level needs and features of the NCI CBIIT caDSR Freestyle Release 4.0.0.1. This document focuses on the functionalities proposed by the product stakeholders and target users in order to make it a better product. The use-case and supplementary specifications document will detail how the framework will fulfill these needs.

Vision and Needs

The objective of this release of the Freestyle Search engine is to fix high priority bugs and enhance for the purpose of supporting SIW use cases.

This release will address any problems with freestyle that are necessary for proper functioning when using Freestyle search in SIW. The may include enhancements to the search algorithm based on research conducted by the caBIG community and presented at the 2008 annual meeting.

Current Solution

Customers would like to be able to find the best match based on concept annotations and names of classes.
