Employment Opportunities

The Office of Technology and Industrial Relations often seeks qualified candidates in the fields of molecular and cancer biology, pathology, proteomics, nanotechnology, technology transfer, technology development, and industrial relations. In addition, OTIR periodically has professional training and development positions available through NCI’s Cancer Research Training Award (CRTA) Fellowship Program.

Below is a list of available positions:

Presidential Management Fellow/Management Intern

OTIR is seeking a bright, energetic Presidential Management Intern (PMI) or Management Intern (MI) who is interested in the entrepreneurial side of business and science to fill a four to six month position. Our office offers the opportunity to work with staff in creating new ways to engage private industry and technology developers in scientific partnership. In addition to supporting NCI's day-to-day interactions with companies, the PMI or MI who accepts this position will have the opportunity to work on two interesting projects:

  1. Establish a program to promote maturation of NCI-funded technologies in the extramural community (academic technology developers and small businesses).
  2. Establish a system for monitoring Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) awardees to be used to identify and highlight a portfolio of success stories.

If you are interested in this opportunity, contact the Office of Technology and Industrial Relations at OTIR@mail.nih.gov.

Cancer Research Training Award (CRTA) Fellowship

Our office offers the opportunity to work with staff in creating and implementing new ways to engage private industry and technology developers in scientific collaboration, at the global level and through enhancements to NCI's SBIR/STTR programs.

To be eligible to participate through the CRTA Program, one must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien eligible for citizenship within four years, and must have received most current degree within the last eight years. One should check the CRTA website for additional program information.

If you are interested in this opportunity, contact the Office of Technology and Industrial Relations at OTIR@mail.nih.gov.
