Staff Contact

Description

This program supports the development, evaluation, and application of multimodal molecular imaging/therapy agents and novel molecular imaging methods for studying normal biological and pathophysiological processes at the cell and molecular levels. The program further supports clinical or preclinical applications of molecular imaging research. Examples of supported research include the development and application of surface functionalized nanoparticles, bioactivated imaging agents, theranostic agents, and high sensitivity/specificity molecular imaging approaches.

Relevant Study Sections

Biomedical Imaging Technology (BMIT)
Medical Imaging (MEDI)
Microscopic Imaging (MI)
Small Business Biomedical Imaging IRG (SBMI)

A complete listing of review groups and study sections can be found at the Center for Scientific Review (http://cms.csr.nih.gov/PeerReviewMeetings/).

For general questions about the NIH grants process, please visit the NIBIB Grant Application Process page.

Program staff recommend that principal investigators include a cover letter listing areas of scientific expertise needed to review the application and how the expertise should be balanced (please do not include names), or potential study section assignments. Questions may be directed to the program director mentioned above.
