Meeting: Building a Neuroscience Information
Framework
This one day meeting, held in the Natcher Conference Center (Room
D) on the NIH campus, 1) briefed NIH staff, resource providers
and potential NIH intramural and extramural beta testers on the
components, design and function of a resource information framework;
(2) explored use cases to test the query and registration functions
of NIF and to better ascertain resource requirements for extending
and maintaining a framework system at different levels of interoperability;
(3) explored possible synergies among approaches, data sets, and
other relevant issues, with other key initiatives and (4) discussed
possible hosts/sponsors of a neuroscience resource information
framework

caBIG™ Technical Assistance Workshop
This workshop providedinformation on the caBIG™ and BIRN infrastructures
in support of two recent NIH program announcements designed to
encourage the sharing of data. BIRN developers will discuss and
demonstrate tools which are being leveraged to aid the creation
of the Neuroscience Information Framework.

Workshop: Databasing
the brain This workshop monitored recent developments
and identified challenges in making databases interoperable, and
discussed community interactions in the field. Several NIF investigators
participated on a variety of topics.
