John Salazar believes that we must do all we can to ensure that Social Security is preserved and our seniors are protected. John is also concerned about the efforts to privatize Social Security. Taking money out of the current system and risking it in the stock market could threaten Social Security and lead to a decrease in benefits for present and future retirees. We cannot forget the lessons we learned from Enron—a retirement fund that relies on the stock market is simply not a guaranteed benefit. |
