The gridPIR (Protein Information Resource) service provides a data resource for genomic and proteomic research containing rich high quality annotated information on all protein sequences. The resource is supported by UniProt Knowledgebase (UniProtKB) and other relevant Protein Information Resource (PIR) databases.

System Requirements:

PIR currently uses Oracle 9i as the database management system and is hosted on a IBM P690 machine. The grid node is hosted on a Intel-based Pentium machine with 1G memory.
