Software Engineering Branch
The Software Engineering Branch (SEB) provides technical and tactical cyber technology management and support for NIAID biomedical research programs.
SEB designs, develops, maintains, implements, and manages software, systems, and applications that provide enhanced support to NIAID. These systems are designed to support specific areas, such as the Scientific Coding and Referral System (SCORS) and the Acquisition Management Budget Information System (AMBIS) 2000. SEB also ensures compliance with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
Throughout the Cyber Technologies Program (CTP), SEB is responsible for:
- Defining and establishing standards and processes
- Identifying and analyzing requisite tasks and attributes of work products and processes
- Determining and forecasting resources needed, negotiating commitments, and developing a schedule
- Developing and maintaining the project and program plan mechanism for work management
- Intensively monitoring and evaluating performed processes, work products, and services against established standards, and reporting status to senior management
- Ensuring that noncompliance issues are addressed and corrective actions taken
- Controlling changes to configuration items and providing accurate status and current configuration data
- Analyzing, designing, building, and testing rollout client, server, and Web-enabled applications and systems
