Program Management Branch

PMB leads and coordinates technology-related policy, strategic planning, program and project liaison, program and project collaboration, and resource administration for NIAID's biomedical technologies programs. PMB is the intra- and interagency liaison between the NIAID CT Program and Chief Information Officer.

PMB responsibilities include:

  • Developing and reviewing NIAID technology planning, programs, and acquisitions to ensure that they conform with technology-related Federal laws, regulations, and policies
  • Coordinating the CT program through strategic planning, knowledge management, cyber systems and software engineering, and bioinformatics
  • Planning, monitoring, and evaluating requirements and resources management, commitments, negotiation, and resolution of process-related issues in the Office of Cyber Infrastructure and Computational Biology (OCICB)
  • Conducting technology resource planning to ensure compliance with governmental policy and Best Practices
  • Administering technology resources for OCICB missions
  • Governing and providing oversight for OCICB technology maintenance and licensing agreements
  • Coordinating NIAID officials' planning with regard to the design and implementation of CT solutions to meet NIAID's needs
  • Performing strategic planning and analyzing resources for future needs by identifying major NIAID bioinformatics issues
  • Enhancing professional development of staff through in-service training, professional development activities in the laboratories, and collaboration with interdisciplinary professionals
  • Sponsoring collaboration between biomedical researchers and information technologists to meet requirements of NIAID's programs
  • Monitoring conformance with technologies, investment review, acquisitions, and evaluation policies
  • Providing:
    • Quality assurance for programs, performance assessment, and guidance and oversight of reporting
    • Guidance and coordination of capital planning for technology
    • Systems Security Administration and Management
