You can’t see glaucoma unless you look for it. More than 2 million Americans have been diagnosed with glaucoma and another two million have the disease and don’t even know it. Glaucoma has no warning signs, and if left untreated, it can cause permanent vision loss. That’s why early detection and treatment are so important. People at higher risk for the disease (African Americans over age 40; everyone over age 60, especially Mexican Americans, and people with a family history of the glaucoma) should see their eye care professional and get a dilated eye exam every one to two years.

Help spread the word about glaucoma to your family and friends.
