BURNABLE DUMPSTER

  • Insulation (Pipe, plastic covers, fiberglass) NO asbestos
  • Ceiling Tiles (Plaster, fiberglass) NO asbestos
  • Flooring (Tiles, linoleum) NO asbestos
  • Cardboard (Containing glued Styrofoam, waxed cardboard,
    fiber drums)
  • Filters (Plastic, charcoal water filters, paper, fiber, particle
    board, HEPA)
  • Flexible pipe (Seal Tight, PVC, Butyl pipe, plastic)
  • Plastic items (Packaging material, Styrofoam, plastic buckets/drums)
  • Wood frames (Mostly wood door and window frames)
  • Painting material (Paint brushes, drop cloths) NO liquids
  • Plastic buckets (Dried Mastic, Joint compound) NO liquids
  • Cables, wires (Plastic coated wires, telephone cables, with more
    Insulation than wire)
  • Belts and Hoses (Fan Belts, rubber hose, etc...)

RECYCLING BINS or CANS

Cut or bend pipes 6 feet or less to fit into bins. Special pick-up for larger
items call 619-2323 Fort Detrick incinerator

Pipes (Iron, steel, copper, Greenfield, galvanized, flexible
BX, EMT conduit, fittings)

  • Case work (Steel, Aluminum, galvanized metal, cabinets, lockers)
  • Duct metal (Steel, galvanized, sheet metal, gutters, siding)
  • Wire (Steel cables, copper, telephone )
  • Empty metal cans (Dried paint cans, empty aerosol cans, dried cement
    cans, other metal cans)
  • Welding items (Flux cans, metal brushes, rods, pipe pieces)
  • Empty cylinders (Propane, Freon, oxygen, mapp gas)
  • Other metal products (Light fixtures, window frames, doors, studs)
  • Paper products (Broken down clean corrugated cardboard)
  • Metal Filters (Non-Contaminated, non-wood)

SPECIAL DELIVERY

Wood items Pallets should be delivered to FT. Detrick incinerator Building 393
Large wooden items (doors, shelving , Formica counter tops, framing lumber)
should be taken to the grind pile in Area B

Filters Contaminated or large Charcoal filters should be delivered to FT. Detrick
incinerator Building 393

NON-BURNABLE DUMPSTER

Call Fort Detrick incinerator for arrangement of large items and/or
amounts (619-2323)

  • Bricks (Masonry)
  • Cement (Blocks , dried and loose bags of cement)
  • Drywall (Joint compound, sheet rock, plaster, concrete
    wallboard)
  • Dirt (Grass, soil, rock)
  • Glass (Windows, window panes, glass cabinets,
    other glass items)
  • Counter tops (Stone like material, Marble)
  • Ballasts (Containing NO PCB’s)
  • Office material (Cubical dividers with metal, carpet and paper
    plenum, sofas, other...)

EHS WASTE MANAGEMENT

  • Call Waste Management X5718 or email chemwaste@ncifcrf.gov
    for pick-up when necessary
  • PCB containing ballasts
  • Exit signs and smoke detectors
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Solvents, oils, chemicals, unknown items
  • Asbestos, Transite Board, asbestos Tiles
  • Alkaline batteries or lead/acid batteries (power supplies
    and emergency lighting)
  • Aerosol cans
  • Lead and/or silver solder
  • Paints – liquids (oil Based, Latex)

MEDICAL WASTE CARTS

  • Red bags (Regardless what is in the bag)
  • Autoclave bags
  • Broken glass boxes or plain boxes containing glass
  • Contaminated Biohazard box
  • Sharp collectors (typically red)
  • Bag in Bag out small HEPA filters
