Post-Translational Modifications


The following links are to multiple sequence alignments showing the positions and nature of all post-translational modifications documented in either SWISS-PROT or GenBank. The histone codes shown in the left-hand column of the alignments can be used to cross-reference entries in the complete set of protein sequences, which contain accession numbers and complete definition lines.

The alignments only show the relevant regions in each of the proteins. If there are no modifications beyond the N-terminus, only the N-terminus is shown.

The color code for modified residues is as follows:

Navy blue background Methylation
Yellow background Acetylation
Red background Amidation
Pale blue-green background Ubiquitination
Purple background Phosphorylation
Yellow background with black outline Phosphorylation and acetylation
White-on-black Methylation and acetylation
