Fire Extinguisher Maintenance

Fire extinguisher maintenance and testing is currently provided to the NCI-Frederick through a contract with Guardian Fire Protection Service, Inc. Guardian recently completed their initial Facility-wide inventory and
inspection of several hundred fire extinguishers. During this effort, a green Guardian inspection tag was put on each extinguisher to indicate that it was serviced. In order to ensure that all of the extinguishers on the NCI-Frederick campus have been inspected, your assistance is needed. While walking through your work area, whether it be a laboratory, an office area, an attic or basement, please take a moment to look at the fire extinguishers and verify that a Guardian inspection tag is attached to the extinguisher. The photograph to the right illustrates the green inspection tag. If you locate an extinguisher without this green Guardian tag, please RSVP via E-mail to Tim Rowe (rowe@ncifcrf.gov) and note the location of the extinguisher(s) in the body of the message. This information will be collected and forwarded to Guardian to perform the necessary inspection and
maintenance on these "lost" extinguishers.

Please contact EHS if you have any questions. Thanks in advance for your assistance and cooperation in keeping the NCI-Frederick community safe.
