Tourette Syndrome/Tic Disorders Research Study

Voluntary Movements in Patients with Tourette Syndrome or Chronic Tic Disorder
|
We are looking for people with Tourette syndrome or chronic tic disorder to participate in research. This study will examine how movement is perceived by those with Tourette syndrome or chronic tic disorders. Participants will be asked to move their hands spontaneously, while reporting on how they experienced the movement. Participants will also be asked to evaluate their perception of their tic movement.
Brain waves and hand movements will be monitored during the study with electrodes, small metal disks, placed on the skin or scalp. This outpatient study takes approximately 4 hours, and is conducted in the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD.
Transportation within the US may be provided. Compensation for time and inconvenience will be provided.
