Biosketch:
Mr. Robert A. Pike is Chief, Grants Management Officer in the Grants Management Branch. Mr. Pike earned his B.A. in Human Development/Psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and has over thirteen years of Grants Management experience at the NIH. Mr. Pike joined NIDDK in January 2007, prior to that he served as the Section Chief in the Grants Operations Branch for the Division of Lung Diseases at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). He was responsible for the timely, cohesive operations and coordination of the Institute’s assistance management activities and sound fiscal stewardship of resources in his section. Prior to his responsibilities at NHLBI, Mr. Pike worked as an Assistant Grants Policy Officer in the Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration (OPERA) within the Office of the Director (OD) at NIH. He has also worked as a Grants Management Specialist for the National Institute on Aging from 1993-2000.
In addition to his regular duties, Mr. Pike is active in the NIH Grants community. He has served on the NIH Grants Management Certification Board. He has also served on several subcommittees of the Grants Management Advisory Committee (GMAC). He is a member of the National Grants Management Association and the Society for Research Administrators.
