TeraGrid Integration Working Group

The caGrid – TeraGrid Integration Working Group is charged with determining and implementing a caGrid-based solution for providing access to TeraGrid resources.  TeraGrid is an open scientific discovery infrastructure combining leadership class resources at nine partner sites to create an integrated, persistent computational resource.

Currently, there is no infrastructure or operating procedures to support high performance computing needs of Domain Workspaces.  This WG effort is aimed at identifying a set of tooling and processes for making such high performance systems available as compliant caBIG™ grid services, leveraging both the performance of the traditional approaches and the interoperability of caGrid services.

Goals of the TeraGrid Integration WG include:

  • To host caBIG grid-enabled services on TeraGrid resources and make these accessible to users via standard caGrid APIs.
  • To create one or more pilot  services, hosted on TeraGrid resources, and make these accessible to users via standard caGrid APIs.
  • To define requirements and use cases for future caGrid development in support of creating and uses such future services.

The TeraGrid Integration Working Group is part of the Architecture Workspace.

Who should get involved?

The caGrid – TeraGrid Integration WG brings together caBIG™ participants with caGrid Development  experience (including service development, workflow, and security expertise), high performance computing experience and scientific domain expertise.

Developers and participants involved in the working group focus area should participate in this group, and individuals interested in learning more about the Work Group activities may contact the WG points of contact noted below or access the group's documentation at the links provided below.
