This SIG is now inactive, and will not be holding teleconferences after 2007. The goal of the Software SIG is to create and adapt open source software tools that can make use of the caBIG™ grid infrastructure to retrieve images and information from a distributed database. The Software SIG is part of the In Vivo Imaging Workspace.
Who should get involved?The Sofware SIG is intended for programmers who are interested in developing the critical sofware conponmnets and deliverables. Valuable input and participation is also sought from imagers who are involved in clinical trials, any type of cancer research involving imaging, and imagers who treat patients directly in any clinical setting. This includes government, industry, academia, and direct care providers. Participation from administrative staff from any of the previously mentioned settings who are involved in decision making with regard to medical imaging equipment is also encouraged. Individuals interested in participating are invited to join the Software
SIG Listserv. The Listserv serves as the primary means of communication
for the SIG. Meeting announcements are posted to the Listserv prior to
the meeting.

Meeting ScheduleStarting in August 2007, all SIGs will meet the first Monday of each month, from 12pm - 2pm ET, on the Deliverable Review and Strategic Planning teleconference.
