Current Portfolio/Responsibilities:

Manage the NIDDK-initiated multi-center clinical studies related to kidney disease, including (1) the Dialysis Access Consortium, (2) the HALT-PKD Clinical Trials, (3) the Consortium for Radiologic Imaging Studies in Polycystic Kidney Disease II, (4) the Living Kidney Donor Study, (5) the Nocturnal Blood Pressure Study in Type I Diabetics, (6) the Clinical Trials of Organ Transplantation (co-administered with NIAID). Activities include protocol development, protocol implementation and administrative oversight, including budgetary, data safety and monitoring, and regulatory compliance (IND filings and reporting).

 

Administer the NIH/NIDDK extramural portfolio of research grants related to Clinical Studies of Diabetic Nephropathy and Polycystic Kidney Disease; and basic and clinical studies related to Kidney Transplantation, Glomerular Disease, Renal Immunology and Renal Imaging within NIDDK/DKUHD.
