Compare Two NEIBank libraries
| Comparisons can give useful insights into relative expression levels of abundant transcripts. Libraries for species that have Entrez Gene IDs can be compared within the same species (e.g. human retina vs human RPE). Different species for which orthologous Gene IDs are linked through Homologene, can also be compared (i.e. human retina vs mouse retina). Currently this works for human, mouse, rat, dog and zebrafish, although not all genes in these species have designated orthologs yet. Species, such as Guinea pig, which currently have no Gene IDs (or Unigenes) cannot yet be compared this way. |
