Core Genotyping Facility
Advanced Technology Center, NCI
Access:
Open

High-throughput genotyping and sequencing

The aim of the Core Genotyping Facility (CGF) is to meet the genotyping and DNA sequencing needs of the NCI’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG) and Center for Cancer Research (CCR). The facility performs high-throughput genotyping and sequencing to support genetic analysis for a broad range of projects for the intramural research program of the NCI.

DNA Sequencing MiniCore Facility
Laboratory of Experimental Carcinogenesis, CCR
Access:
Open

Sample processing and sequencing and data analysis assistance

The DNA Sequencing MiniCore Facility accepts samples for DNA sequencing, or microsatellite analysis, from any investigator within the CCR. The facility analyzes these samples using state-of-the-art fluorescence-based sequencers. The MiniCore provides this service for the small-to-intermediate volume users. Most users submit 10 to 20 samples at a time. Emphasis is on analyzing samples rapidly and accurately. Most users receive data within one business day of submission. We also aid investigators in experimental design, interpretation of data, and trouble-shooting.

Comparative Molecular Cytogenetics Core Facility
Access:
Open

Fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH), spectral karyotyping (SKY), comparative genome hybridization (CGH), chromosome flow sorting, karyotyping, and sister chromatid exchange (SCE)

The Comparative Molecular Cytogenetic Core provides molecular cytogenetic support services to the NCI community. This facility aids in the assessment of structural and numerical genomic changes in cancer, pre-cancer, and cancer models. In general, services are provided for cytogenetic analyses, which are not routinely available from extramural providers. The core is the only facility in the NIH with chromosome flow sorting capabilities and has particular expertise in the cytogenetics of animal models including, but not limited to, murine and non-human primates species.
