Pregnancy Consultations

Free pregnancy testing is available to employees.

To ensure the safety of the pregnant employee and her unborn child, it is important that she inform OHS as soon as possible in order that her health and work exposures can be assessed and proper recommendations can be made.

With the employee's consent, OHS will arrange a conference with the employee, supervisor, and appropriate safety officer at which time any/all potential safety hazards are addressed. The Pregnancy Work Release Certificate is completed at this joint conference and is taken, by the employee, to her obstetrician for confirmation of pregnancy, length of time employee may work, and any specific recommendations. OHS reviews the form when it is returned and recommends action, as warranted.

It is the employee's responsibility to notify her Human Resources Department to arrange leave for delivery and post-partum care.
