The Translational Research Working Group (TRWG) was established in 2005 to conduct a discussion with the broader cancer research community and develop recommendations about how NCI can best organize its investment to further translational research. In 2007, the National Cancer Advisory Board accepted the TRWG Report, and NCI is now beginning efforts to put the TRWG recommendations into practice.
The featured speakers are Lynn Matrisian, TRWG co-chair and special assistant to the NCI director, and Gwen Darien, editor-in-chief of CR magazine and director of the Survivor and Patient Advocacy Program at the American Association for Cancer Research.
