15, 2006, marks the fourth annual National Latino AIDS Awareness Day
(NLAAD). "Knowledge is Power. Get the Facts. Get Tested for HIV" is this
year’s theme. The theme focuses on the importance of HIV testing and
prevention, education, and raising HIV/AIDS awareness in the Latino

Cultural Competency Slides from AETC The AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC) offer HIV Prevention for Latinos: Challenges and Strategies, a slide program for health care providers who treat HIV-positive Latino patients. This PowerPoint presentation was given this summer at the 2006 National Conference on Latinos and AIDS in Miami, FL. The program talks about the importance of effective communication about HIV prevention among HIV-positive Latino patients and gives reliable advice on ways to communicate about HIV/AIDS treatment and support HIV-positive Latinos within the context of their specific Latin cultures.
