Research investigation and animal model validation
This activity is also under development and thus far has included increasing pathology resources, delivering pathology services, as well as using imaging and surgical methods to develop and refine animal models in collaboration with other CCR investigators. Immediate planned goals include executing a study to test preclinical efficacy of two molecularly targeted drugs chosen for use in combination. Results are expected to support use of the specific drugs as a combination therapy in clinical research, and furthermore serve to provide an example for establishing preclinical efficacy studies for combination therapies within CCR, one area being organized by the CCR Director’s preclinical models strategy team.
