Title Search Tips

Type as much or as little of the title as you want. For example:

          -   Biochemistry of Viruses
          -   Biochemistry of V
          -   Biochemistry
          -   Journal of Cellular Biochemistry

Keyword Search Tips

Type KEYWORD that may appear in the title, contents notes, corporate names, etc. As words are automatically linked,
there is no need to use and. For example:

          -   medical statistics
          -   flow cytometry

To narrow a search, use not. For example, DNA not RNA.
To broaden a search, use or. For example, Tumor or Neoplasm.
Use * to truncate. For example, chem* will retrieve all words beginning with chem...

Author Search Tips

Type the author's or artist's last name first. For example:

          -   brown
          -   brown, fred
          -   brown, f

You may also type the name of an organization or governmental body. For example:

          -   Cold Spring Harbor
          -   American Medical Association

Subject Search Tips

Type as much or as little of the subject as you want. For example:

          -   public health
          -   analytical chemistry
          -   United States History Civil War, 1861-1865

The subject search uses a specific, controlled vocabulary for describing Library material. If you do not find
what you are looking for in the subject index, try a keyword search or ask a Librarian for assistance.

NLM/LC Call Number Search Tips

Type the NLM/LC Call Number you want. For example:

          -   QA 401 .B45 1966
          -   QA 401

Search Other Call Number for the Audiovisual Collection.

Other Call Number (Audiovisual) Search Tips

Type the OTHER Call Number to search the Audiovisual collection. For example:

          -   AV 00135
          -   AV
