President's Office
I am deeply honored to be serving as the new president of the University of Maine at Augusta. I want to thank UMA's wonderful faculty, staff and students, and the communities that surround our Augusta and Bangor campuses for welcoming me to this outstanding institution and place.
More importantly, I want to thank all of you for your past diligent efforts that today are propelling UMA forward in so many significant areas. This is evidenced in several ways, but two come immediately to mind:
- The outstanding Accreditation Report UMA received this past fall from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. It's very clear to even outside experts in the field that we are successfully moving ahead in our mission to meet the educational, economic and cultural needs of Central Maine.
- The success of UMA graduates in the workplace and within the community. Wherever you go in Central Maine you are sure to find UMA alumni in key leadership positions in business, in health care, in non-profit agencies, in government, and in community groups.
We already have so much to be proud of, but I firmly believe that UMA's future holds even greater promise. Since we can only move forward together, I welcome your help, advice, comments and feedback. Building on the excellent foundation that so many have created, there is every reason to believe that for UMA, the best is yet to come.
