10.07.08 A report on AL-Base, the Amyloid Light Chain Database, has been accepted for publication in Amyloid: Journal of Protein Folding Disorders. AL-Base contains molecular information (both nucleotide and amino acid sequences) on more than 400 amyloid light chain proteins.
"July 2007: The Institute of Medicine of the National Academies of Science has published an update of their analysis of the health risks of Agent Orange that has reclassified AL amyloidosis as one of the diseases that may be associated with Agent Orange exposure, based upon "limited or suggestive evidence". This may make it easier for veterans with AL amyloidosis who were exposed to Agent Orange to receive compensation."
