Biography

Dr. Elena Chertova received her Ph.D. in biochemistry in 1991 from Shemyakin Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia. In 1993-1994 she was a visiting scientist at the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. In 1994, Dr. Chertova joined the AIDS Vaccine Program and has been the Head of the Retroviral Protein Chemistry Core since 2004.
