NOTICE OF LIMITED COMPETITION FOR COMPETING APPLICATIONS: FEASIBILITY PROJECTS TO TEST STRATEGIES FOR PREVENTING OR SLOWING PROGRESSION OF DIABETIC NEPHROPATHY RELEASE DATE: February 27, 2004 NOTICE: NOT-DK-04-005 National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) (http://www.niddk.nih.gov) The NIDDK is requesting competing applications from the current awardees of RFA-DK-02-025: Feasibility Projects to Test Strategies for Preventing or Slowing Progression of Diabetic Nephropathy. Applications submitted in response to the RFA were for feasibility studies to test new therapeutic interventions in the setting of diabetic kidney disease. The grant awards were made in September 2002. The current grantees possess the necessary infrastructure, study population base, organization, and leadership to address the important objectives of obtaining new therapies that will enhance our understanding of the processes that determine progression of renal disease, and provide a rational bases for further definitive clinical studies in diabetic nephropathy.
