New Operating System Coming to Titan This Summer
Check Third-Party Software Compatibility
CIT will install a new operating system on Titan at the NIH Computer Centerversion 1.4 of z/OS, which replaces OS/390. This latest level of the operating system has many new enhancements and supports the latest 64-bit IBM mainframeor zSeriesprocessors. We expect to migrate to z/OS 1.4 on Titan in July.
Ensure That Third-Party Software Will Still Function
All Titan users who have installed third-party software on this system should contact their vendors to ensure that such software will be supported and still functions in this new operating system environment.
Updates on the status of z/OS will appear in future issues of Titan News. To be notified when new issues appear, subscribe to the e-mail list for Titan News.
If you have questions, please call TASC at 301-594-6248, and ask to speak to the OS/390 support staff.
