Upcoming CIT Training
The CIT Computer Training Program is offering the following classes on OS/390. The training program is open to NIH employees and to all users of CIT computing. You can register for these classes on the training Web page.
Titan TransitionWhere's My Keyword? on February 19
All of the mainframe work is being transitioned to run on the new Titan system. This new system will use stronger security and will leave behind the "keyword security system" that was in use on the South system. This seminar will show you how to use RACF security in place of a keyword for sharing your data with others. Actions you take now on the South system will ease your transition onto the Titan system.
RACF on South and Titan Systems on March 4
This course is for NIH Sponsors, RACF coordinators, and CIT users who have an interest in using RACF to protect their data. The course will cover how both the South system and the Titan system use RACF, and how users can interact with RACF to get the security that they desire. The course assumes knowledge about mainframes and how they are used, generally the reasons for needing security, and the ways to invoke Web interfaces from a personal computer. There is no hands-on in the class, but there will be online demos.
