South Users' Logon Screen to Change December 1
On December 1, 2003, South system users who connect via tn320 will see a different logon screen. On that date, the IP hostname that points to full-screen TSO/VTAM on the South system (tn3270.cu.nih.gov) will be modified to point to Titan VTAM (tn3270.titan.nih.gov). This change is being made to prepare users for the South system shut-down in January 2004.
New Logon Screen
The new logon screen is entitled "Application Selection." Several applications appear in the left column of this screensuch as, NIHTSO, DB2, IMS (see below).
At the bottom of this screen:
| type in the name of the application that you wish to use |
| tab over and type in your userid (aaaaiii) |
| tab over and type in the procname (if needed) |
| hit Enter |
You will then be presented with a screen to enter your RACF password. Hit Enter again, and you're in.
If you do not enter your userid on the "Application Selection" screen, you will get an extra screen that prompts for your userid and password.
Applications on Titan
The table below outlines the application names, and other information, you need for the various systems you might use.
System | Application | USERid | Procname |
Titan | NIHTSO | aaaaiii | |
South | TSOSOUTH1 | aaaaiii | |
DB2 | DB2 | aaaaiii | DB2 proc name used on South |
IMS | IMS2 |

Note that the TSOSOUTH option will no longer be available after the South system is shut down in January 2004. |

IMS users can also go directly to the IMS screen. For more information, go to South Logon page of the Titan Transition pages. |
Do You Use a Logon Script?
If you use scripts, we highly recommend that you first upgrade to the latest version of QWS3270version 3.8. This version has a much nicer scripting facility than earlier versions.
If you use a logon script to access full-screen TSO, you will likely have to make a change for your script to continue working. Please contact TASC at (301) 594-6248 and ask to speak to a Titan consultant about logon scripts.
Accessing NIH Wylbur
To access NIH Wylbur on Titan, you must first log onto TSO by selecting the NIHTSO option from the "Application Selection" screen. This will put you into the ISPF Primary Option menu. You can then choose Enter one of the following commands:
TSO WYLBUR |
- | from any Command line within ISPF |
WYLBUR command |
- | on the ISPF Command screen (option 6 on the "Primary Option Menu") |
WYLBUR command |
- | at the TSO READY prompt |
If it is absolutely necessary to use Wylbur on the South system before the South system shuts down:
| Select TSOSOUTH from the Titan "Application Selection" screen and log onto the South System. |
| Enter the WYLBUR command at the TSO READY prompt. |
Logging Off
When you log off of TSO, you will return to the "Application Selection" screen again. At this point, just close the windowclick the X in the top right corner.
NoteIf you type LOGOFF or hit PF3 from the "Application Selection" screen you will be presented with the "NetView Access Services" screen. You can not do anything from this screen. To return to the "Application Selection" screen, simply hit PF12.
What Can I Do Now?
You can make this change prior to December 1 by adding a new session to your QWS3270 application to point to Titan (tn3270.titan.nih.gov). See South Logon of the Titan Transition Web pages for details.
