Accessing the ADB/Delpro with Your NIH Login
NIH users of the ADB (including Delpro) can now sign on by specifying their NIH Login ID rather than their Titan USERid. People who use this new NIH Login method to access the ADB will be able to specify the same Domain, User name and Password used to sign onto the NIH Portal and ITAS. It will no longer be necessary to specify your Titan USERid and password, although you may do that if you wish.
Getting Started
Register Your NIH ID with the Titan USERid
Your NIH ID must be registered with the Titan USERid that you use to sign onto the ADB. The NIH ID is the 10-digit number at the bottom of your NIH ID badge.

Select the Titan USERid to Use for ADB
Since you may have more than one Titan USERid, you must select one to be your "preferred" Titan USERid for the ADB and associate it with your NIH Login ID.
Go to http://silk.nih.gov/set/adb/userid. After you pass through the NIH Login, you will be presented with a screen containing a box that lists all your Titan USERids and a field for entering a password.
1) Select the Titan USERid you wish to use.
|
|
I don't know if I have a "preferred ADB" Titan USERid.
|
|
|
I already have a "preferred ADB" Titan USERid.
|
2) Enter the password associated with that USERid, and click "Continue."
This Titan USERid will be designated as your "preferred ADB" Titan USERid when you log in using your NIH Loginassuming the password is correct. It will remain in effect for accessing ADB until you change it.
Modifying Your QWS3270 Port Setting
Once you have established a "preferred ADB" Titan USERid, it will be necessary to modify the QWS3270 port settings (in the "Connect" screen of QSW3270, use the "Edit" button to present the "Session Settings - Titan" menu box).
If it currently shows port 23 or 2325, change it to 2329. If it currently shows port 2324 (secure SSL connectivity), change it to 2328. Click the "Apply" and "OK" buttons on the "Sessions Setting" page, and the NIH Login port will be used for all subsequent connections.
Logging In
After the port number has been set, you may connect to the ADB in your normal fashion (click on QWS3270 in the upper left hand corner of the screen, choose "Connect" and then click on Connect). You will be presented with an IMS login screenspecify your NIH Login ID (User name), domain, and password, then press "Enter."
NOTEYou cannot use the mouse to move from field to field, you must use the Tab key; otherwise invalid characters will be transmitted when you press Enter.
This will put you into IMS just as though you had logged in with your Titan USERid and password.
NoticeADB Users with More Than One Titan USERid
If you have more than one Titan USERid, you cannot use the method described above exclusively because there is no way to determine which Titan USERid should be used for a given NIH Login ID and domain.
We recommend that you specify the Titan USERid you use most often as the "preferred ADB" Titan USERid. If you wish to access the ADB with one of your other USERids, use the current (Titan Userid/password) method of logging in to the ADB.
