September 10Annual Inactive USERid Cleanup on Titan and South Systems
On Wednesday, September 10, CIT will begin its annual elimination of inactive USERids. Since "inactive" USERids can pose a security risk, this cleanup policy is necessary to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to NIH data. This policy was begun last year with a cleanup of inactive USERids on the South system. This year, inactive USERids from both the South system and Titan will be deleted.
A USERid is inactive only if ALL of the following conditions exist:
It has not been used to sign on to TSO (including M204 or Adabas), WYLBUR, or IMS (including the ADB and the Data Warehouse) for two years. It has not been used to run a batch job with ",USER=" on the JOB statement for two years or run a batch job without ",USER=" for one year. It has not been used to access a secure SILK web site (which prompts for the account/initials and RACF password). It does not have any tapes assigned to it. It does not have any active data sets or DB2 objects on public disks assigned to it (except for system-generated data sets such as those automatically created for WYLBUR mail, DB2 and ISPF). It does not have any migrated data sets assigned to it (except for system-generated data sets, as above). It is not registered for Helix, ALW or Parachute.
We do not anticipate any impact from this cleanup. However, if you have any questions about the policy or the process that will occur on September 10, please call TASC at (301) 594-6248.
