Although the DCB staff members are
primarily engaged in collaborative research with the NIH intramural
researchers, they also perform independent research in developing innovative
algorithms and approaches that can be applied to solving complex biomedical
research problems.
Their
independent research covers a wide range of topics in computational science,
modern engineering and computer science, and information science, which
include the followings but are not limited to :
- Data storage and retrieval
- High-performance database
- High-speed networking
- Parallel computing
- Scientific data analysis and visualization.
These basic research studies have
strengthened DCBs collaborative research projects, and they have been
transformed into end-user applications.
