@@ TODO: Student Awards

California State University, Dominguez Hills: Bridges to the Baccalaureate participants Pedro Olmedocolor and Michelle Loayza have received the Phil and Chris Green Scholarship, a $500 award that recognizes personal commitment toward the role that science plays in addressing minority health disparities.

Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico: former MARC trainee Melissa Torres received the 2003-2004 George Washington Carver Fellowship at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. The fellowship supports first-year doctoral students in agriculture, engineering, or the sciences from Historically black or Hispanic-serving institutions or tribal colleges who aspire to a career as a professor or researcher in higher education. Current MARC students Marta Gonzalez and Anthony Burgos were recognized this past fall as "Best Chemistry Students" by the Puerto Rico Board of Chemists.
